I invite you on a journey through the amazing house I had the honor to design. The house is located in the town of Gowarzewo near Poznań, and its interiors can delight. The house was created as a place for a young couple who would like to start their own family in the future. The customers were open to modern solutions, especially since the Master of the House is professionally involved in the sale of modern systems for intelligent homes.
Let's start with the entrance hall. It is an obligatory interior in Polish homes due to changing weather conditions. Inside, there is an individually designed wardrobe for outerwear and shoes. The open area contains hangers for clothes for guests and a small seat with shelves for shoes. On the other side, there is a huge illuminated mirror that optically enlarges the interior and is useful for dressing.
Let's move on to the next room, which is a staircase with a corridor leading to the toilet, home office, living room with kitchen, and also to the garage. The illuminated stairs are the first ones that catch your eye. Wooden steps give the impression of being light, floating in the air. There is a cupboard hidden under the stairs where the hosts have a lot of space for storage. The climate is complemented by a glass balustrade, which makes the whole look light and transparent. It is a great example of the fact that a staircase can also be a decorative element, not only a functional one.
Right next to the staircase is a guest bathroom. After the clients purchased the property, the bathroom was finished. However, its condition, appearance and layout required a complete metamorphosis. That is why the bathroom has been redesigned from scratch. The functional layout has been changed so that the bathroom is more comfortable to use and more spacious.
The design includes a laundry space under the stairs. It has been separated by openwork sliding doors, which are also an interesting decorative element. The interior is modern and minimalist, raw, in a loft atmosphere. The cabinets are hidden behind the mirror, and the niche for cosmetics in the shower hides everything that guests using the toilet should not see. The bathroom, compared to what was before, is incomparably better and more functional.
On the opposite side of the guest bathroom is the office of the master of the house who runs his own business. For this purpose, it needs a comfortable place to work and a lot of space for storing documents. The investor wanted to keep the room clean and tidy in a simple way, which is why all cabinets are closed. Wood and black perfectly match this interior. It is chic and elegant. The furniture itself is an important decoration for this interior. The client may occasionally receive colleagues at his office for meetings.
The living room with the dining room is the heart of the house. In the center of the room there is an individually designed fireplace stylistically referring to the rest of the room. The fireplace has a separate area for storing wood, as well as representative, illuminated shelves for wine. The fireplace connects the living room and dining room with the kitchen. The entire room has been divided into a relaxation and rest zone and a dining room, which has direct communication with the kitchen. At the request of customers, this monochrome interior has a navy blue color - on upholstered furniture.
The seating area consists of a large corner sofa, a coffee table and rtv furniture. The cabinets are stylistically related to the interior colors and contain all the necessary equipment. It's a place where owners can meet friends and family.
The dining room has a table that can be folded out, allowing the owners to sit the whole family and friends at the same table. A living room with an open kitchen and dining room will be perfect for organizing parties. An interesting fact is that the ceiling lighting is controlled by voice, using an application, switch or remote control and can change the color and intensity, so you can change the character and atmosphere in the interior in the blink of an eye.
The kitchen is monochrome: black and white. Previously, there were two entrances to its interior: from the corridor and from the dining room. To make the kitchen more functional and accommodate all the cabinets and equipment, the door opening on the corridor side was bricked up, leaving the dining room with the kitchen connected. The lady of the house loves to cook, so she needed a large, spacious kitchen with lots of cabinets capable of accommodating all the equipment. This has been achieved thanks to double rows of hanging cabinets and U-shaped standing cabinets.
On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. The interior design project included a master bedroom and a bathroom upstairs. The investors' bedroom makes a great impression mainly thanks to the decorative lamellas going from the headboard to the suspended ceiling. The bed has been integrated with the bedside tables. The room is not large, but thanks to the mirrored wardrobe opposite the bed, you have the impression that it is much larger. In addition, in the reflection of the mirror, you can see beautiful light illumination and the headboard of the bed, giving an even more beautiful atmosphere to the interior. In the niche of the room there is a place for a dressing table for the lady of the house with a professional make-up mirror.
The main bathroom has a light loft atmosphere. In this case, gray tiles imitating the texture of concrete perfectly match with dark wood and black accessories. It is worth paying special attention to the designed cabinet with a washbasin. The cabinet is adjusted to the roof slope and will accommodate all cosmetics, cleaning products, and even a broom or a mop. Everything has been designed to maintain minimalism and order. The bathroom has a beautiful free-standing bathtub and walk-in shower with a hidden cosmetics bay. The bathtub itself is a small work of art and completes the whole interior.
Overall, I really enjoyed working with my clients. I love when clients have an open mind to new solutions, and I meet their expectations as a designer. The project met all their expectations and it was nice to see how the project was systematically implemented on the construction site. The interior will undoubtedly stand the test of time and will make an equally good impression. All this thanks to minimalism and monochrome, which has always been and will be in fashion. It's just like an elegant men's black suit, it always looks good both in the past and now.
