Home transformation of a single-family house. Sometimes the desire for a small change motivates further, bigger changes. That was also the case here. The client contacted me with the desire to refresh the entrance to the building. When designing architecturally, it is important that the design is coherent. The building was to become more fresh and modern. The new entrance part had to match the style of the rest of the building. The client was convinced that it was worth investing and refreshing the entire building. Thanks to this, the new façade concept is coherent and has a more modern and fresh character.
The inspiration for this facade renovation project came from Alpine resorts. This is because the existing structure somewhat resembles the local buildings. Stone facade tiles are a decorative element. In this case, I offered the client two variants: 1. with a cladding made of tiles imitating slate (in brown, beige and gray colors) and 2. more mild with gray tiles imitating stone. After presenting the samples to the client, he chose option 2.
In the project, I also used slabs imitating architectural concrete, which introduced a modern character to the project. The garage door was renovated and painted anthracite. The anti-burglary roller shutters were replaced with flush-mounted, anthracite ones. The new anthracite front door fits perfectly.
The new railings look great and add lightness to the form. New lighting makes the building look equally elegant in the evening, and the entrance will be properly exposed.
Apart from the front elevation, I also prepared concepts for the remaining elevations. Their style refers to the front façade. Thanks to this, the form and concept are coherent and comprehensive. The stone material appears on the remaining facades, dividing the building accordingly. New railings on the side façade complement the form. Thanks to these treatments, the form becomes more varied and interesting. This was the idea behind this concept.
Ultimately, by changing these few elements, we managed to give the building a new life. The building became more elegant and stylish. The whole thing is coherent and makes a good impression. A modern building was created at a relatively low cost.
I made the project for the Magprojekt design company
